The town graveyard is heaving with excited fans as the people of Lyme Regis jostle to see the final showdown between their wrestling heroes, Man Mountain and The Plough. As the crowd roars its support, an inconspicuous ship slips into Weymouth harbour carrying a lethal cargo. The year is 1348. Two brothers try to resolve a family dispute as the plague creeps closer. As fear of infection takes hold, what will friends do to save friends? What will brothers do to resolve their differences before it’s too late? Following the success of Smugglers and Rebel Harbour, Shanty Theatre Company returns to the Marine Theatre for the third successive summer with a hysterically historical musical tale of plague, pestilence and puns. Never has the Black Death been so funny. A Rat’s Tale; Warning! It’s contagious!
